I asked a while back on this forum if there was a new kite ban at Wellington Point, everyone said no, it was business as usual.

My boss brought me this pic in today... Anyone care to explain what's going on - has that sign always been there? Is it even a legal council sign?

For the record he's generally pro-kite (ie lets me off early when it's windy and prefers kiters to jet skiers) but he said he could see why it was banned, in the last week he saw kiters carving very close or through groups of kids in the shallows, and flying kites low and fast over peoples heads as they walked out the sandbar to the island, said he heard a few decapitation jokes being made.

I've only been out there a few times, I've got no idea what it's really like. I'm not saying this to point the finger or stir anything up, I'm just passing along comments from joe public.

As for the sign I'd like to know if there is a risk of a fine even if you rig & ride below the tide mark???

Nice pic of the lush gardens.
Shame about the sign pollution.
I counted 6 different signs in that bunch.

Keep our beaches natural.

If you rig below the high tide mark, you will NOT get a fine ever... That is my and the crew's full understanding of that sign... If you rig above it, it's an approx. $275 on the spot fine.

The signs have always been there bar the steps sign and the crossing ahead one... Look a bit sus lol... Haven't been there in a few weeks, so maybe it's possible.

Good winds ahead

that signs been there for years.

the funny thing about the "No Dogs" sign you can see in the background is they have this huge No Dogs picture then in tiny writing at the bottom of the sign it says "no dogs allowed on weekends and public holidays". lol!
