Hi All,
I'm Kinda new to the sport, I taught myself in Tanzania, Africa when i was on a Kayaking trip in '05 with a Co2 and a 130 Icon and havn't had a chance to get out in ages.

Thinking about getting a either a 10 SB3 or a 12 SB3
and possibly a bigger board the Cab Custom has been recommended to me.

Can any well me the difference between the Crossbow and the Switchblade, i know the Crossbow has a bigger wind range. I heard Crossbow has a lot of bar pressure. I haven't flown either, looking to demo this weekend.

I'm also going to Mauritius for 3 weeks over xmas and will be near Le Morne, what is the wind conditions like and what kite do you think i will need for these conditions.

I'm 174cm and weight 73kg.

And yes i have done searches on these forums for info, but couldnt find anything comparing the CB3 and SB3
Any help would be great.
Cheers

Both good kites. New fabric used in versions 3 is tops.

Both kites are grunty and have fast water relaunch but prob. a sized too large for conditions given your weight and experience.

Bow3> More suited for waves and cruising, pullies at the bar makes it a better gust eater.

Switch3> More suited for freestyle or "pop" and unhooking.

Both kites are pretty quick and powerful for their size and are excellent light wind kites.

I use a 12 Switch3 for light winds (12-17 knots), after that I go to 5 line from other brands.

The Cab. web site will give you their spin also.

I have recently returned from Le Morne and it is really a great kiting destination for all levels of kiters. Its one very big playground with everything from flat water to down the line wave riding.

2 sites I would recommend.

The club mistral website that is located at the Indian Resort at le Morne.

http://www.club-mistral.com/en/destinations/weather/9?From_Day=01&To_Day=31&To_Month=12&To_Year=2006&submit=search

These are the weather stats for dec 2006. It looks like quite a few days with wind btw 20 to 25 knots.

Also check out the live web cam to get amped before you go. On the same page above.

Also check out the following web site for more Kiting info all around Mauritius.

www.mauritiusurf.com/

I am 72kg and used all my kites (8/10/12m Swicthblades).

If I could only take one kite it would be btw my 10 and 12.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Thanks,
That helps alot!! I think i will get the Switchblade...really undersided as to get the 12 or the 10....!! Would 12 still be alright in say 20-25 knots?? or is it no good?? and whats minimum that 10 will go...and ideal wind range?
I know it does say this on cabrinha website, but would rather hear it from real people.
