What do you want to know about the latest kites and the people behind them?? From now on we will be incorporating your questions from these forums into our Teching Out section to really help find out what everyone wants to know. Let us know in this thread (or by emailing [email protected]) what you want to know and from who and we will endeavour to chase their answers for upcoming issues.
The designers and people behind the brands would never have time to deal with everyone’s questions separately but if they are pooled together we should be able to get tonnes of answers on all areas of the sports technical development.

So whether you want to know if the C-kite will continue, the next direction of SLE bridles or even how the brands work out what to release next just ask away!!

Cheers,

Bill

It would be good if in each issue you could feature 1 or 2 kites that were demoed by the same 1 or 2 riders each time and have them give us there likes, dislikes, fearues and benefits. NAH this would get to hard cause then we would want to know what conditions they were tested in the riders levels would differ to those of the people who wanted to buy the kites.

I suppose I would just like an honest impression of the new kites on the market from someone who ins't linked to one of the companies.

How about an article on manufacturing sequences for kite - I dont know about anyody else, but Id like to see some photos of kites in production and how they do all thsoe tricky little stiches. Some times I look at and think 'how the feck did they get a needle in there???'

How about an unadulterated, unfettered, honest, unbiased, unaffected (kn etc) product review - ie., not just the media release that came with the product.

You could even have a KBM "Kite of the Year" a la Wheels "Car of the Year".

Without sounding like Slave by launching into an anti-commercialisation rant, is it too hard to do this because of the sponsorship dollar?

I would like to see a reveiw section on what kites can and cant do when comparing them.
That would be useful for wider knowledge on kite design concepts.

Yep what he said

I honestly stopped buying your mag because the stuff I wanted to know wasn't in there.
All the windsurf mags used to constantly rate gear up against similar gear in similar catagories to find out what was the best.

You guys show newly released gear and its all great from start to finish.

"This kite has the depower of a bow and the handling of a c"

What happens when you guys take it out in the surf and drop it in front of a wave?

And the "this board will work equally well on flat water and in surf" claims dont sound credible so you end up dosing salt on everything you read.

The pictures are great,
but the gear reviews we can look up on the companys web site

Good luck in the future!

yeah it would be quite interesting to ask one of the leading manufactures if they will continue making c kites and for how long (obviously it would have to be a company that still makes then ie. north with the vegas, naish with the torch, slingshot with the fuel or f.one with the impact).

cheers, Leo

Boys, boys, boys, stop hassling the poor man.

Just go out and buy Kite World instead. It's soooo much better, nicer paper, beautiful photographs, plenty of gear reviews and new product, great trick instructionals, and a chicky babe section to boot.

It's mint, try it.

Hey KW, gimme a job now woudlja. I could do a whimsical piece on a WA kiter stranded in manchester and taking up mountain biking again.

sigh.

Feeler gauge, socket set, and an afternoon for valve clearances. Not really all that hard. Although if you've got one of those systems that need shims you're on your own

Jets aren't that hard either, especially if you've got a sniffer, otherwise just lean it out until the burble goes away. If it pings, richen it up a bit. Remember, richer is safer than leaner...

Gear reviews by actual pro riders, as apposed to just copying what is allready written on the website. I agree wtih some poeple that have allready posted in this forum, it would be good to have 1 or 2 pro riders to test out the kites, then have a side by side tabel featuring the different aspects to the kites and which kite preforrmed better in there oppion ect.
