Hey Guys,

Does anybody know if the man made reef is a go or not, if it would impact on the ecology just off Scarbs.

If it doesn't affect the ecology, it would be cool to get some decent surf off Perth.
And I may consider getting back into surfing, as I was down in City Beach on friday afternoon and there must have been about 30 guys trying to ride a ****ty wave off the groin.

Cheers
Rich

Sorry Guys, may have read it off another forum - possibly one of the surf forums, it was while back and I can't recall. But it would be a good idea.

Cheers

Well, if it is as good as cables,we are in for a treat

Can't remember their web page but they use to have stupid claims that it was breaking 312 days a year (i think that whenever they can spot a crumble of white water it gets classified as a surfing day).

That reef was a total waiste of money, it doesn't break anymore that it used to, the left never works and the right doesn't connect.

Unless there is a way to actually make it work (there is way more swell at Scarb than Cables),it could be awesome.

Unfortunately, with anything man made, it needs to be safe to avoid liability and a reef needs to be shallow which will never happen.
