We did our first downwinder on Sunday.
Was really excited , got to the beach the wind was howling sand was being blown around from the beach and the waves were awesome, also to add to this I was using my new kite which I purcahsed specifically for waveriding and doing downwinders.

About 3 kilometers into it I realised I left the keys in the car at the starting point.I looked back and knew staright away I had to go back.Tried to kite back but it was extremely difficult going against the tide and the waves, so I bit the bullet landed the kite and started jogging back.Jogging in soft sand into a 25 knot head wind to deal with, as well as being 30 degrees hot was not good.

It took me while , had a cold shower when I got to the car and slowly made my way back 3 kays back to my kite.

As soon as I realaunched the kite and caught up to the crew all was forgotten as I rode those waves with my mates for another 9 kilometers.

Would I do it again fark yeh.

Downwinders rule , its true freedom waves is where its at.

What a day mate!

I'm still smiling!

I'm kind of glade that you had to go back. The power nap (nana nap) on the beach was just what I needed.

Looks like it could be on again this Sunday.

Will need to work on the kite fitness

Cmon Morgs book those tickets , maybe you can bring those lovely girls along as well.

Myself and the local forster crew all joined in on a downwinder on sunday as well, blowing consistent 26 knots we had 14kays ahead..
I thought i left my phone in my mates car, but i left in the back off my utes tray in the middle of a busy carpark at the end of the downwinder..It was still there at the end two..STOKED...
ive got to say for my first downwinder that was one of my best rides ever.. there was 12 of us take off..
U learn so much in the waves..I agree that is where its at..
I just need a faster 9m kite now..

Alan that special charm is called cash , as we all know they know how to spend it and they love to shop.

I have had to book the wife into a five star resort for when we go away, small trade off though when you think about the kiting that is going to be had.Big Al hope you can make it, it looks like Kev is under the pump for Sunday.

Scotty glad to hear you enjoyed the downwinder. Its a great feeling riding a wave or smacking of the lip and knowing that you dont have to go back up wind or boost a big air of the face of a wave.

The River has a better noise than a sniffer dog , he knows where the best wind and waves are all the time. River is a BHP a silent achiever.I should have the fish for the weekend as well , we can all get out there and test it out.

Mr Wandaful
We've seen you kite at Dolls before, now unfortunately you might not qualify to be included in da crew. Anti-dollys and C's only.
Skill level not important

Game on Andrew , have to see what the forecast says , looks like its been downgraded to yellow arrows. As for the legs they were truly pumped after that effort.

Best you do a few before we do the big one.

Just got news the Mad Dog has booked his tickets and his bringing all those hot girlies along as well.

The question is does the Mad Dog like to share.

Wind looks good down the coast I dont care if Im not invited but Im coming and Im bringing the dollys crew with me.
Dollys crew rule and so do bow kites no C kites allowed.Skill level not important and dollys crew will suit a downwinder as half of us cant even kite up wind we just cause carnage and mayhem where ever we go.Long live the dollys crew.
