This would have to be the worst December for winds in Melbourne since I started kiting in 2002. What do you other locals reckon?

It's my fault. First time I've had weekends and evenings off for years hence plenty of time for kiting therefore no wind

Tomorrow looking good though

The only problem is the piss weak seabreezes that are slowly starting to trickle in. We're now starting to get some ~14-16kn seabreezes, so with a bit of luck they'll kick up to their usual friendly 17-20 and we'll all be happy.
There have been a couple of solid afternoon sessions so far, but it's definitely no the kite every day after work kind of season so far.

I checked my records for days kiting in December. So far up to 10 days kiting and there's still 10 days of the month left. That doesn't count the days that were kitable but I did other stuff.

port phillip bay i find has the wirdes wind anywhere.
often i fined if theres light winds at my favert or local beach there are other alltenitives, meaning an extra 20 30 min drive more to a differnt part of the bay.my secret spot (avalon) is not for beginers ,it has powerline 20m downwind of launching area, and a big big rock under the water by 100mm at high tide.other then that its a good back up for point hennry and altona.often when there is light winds one of those three spots will pay out more then the others ,other then coastal seabrezzes

maybe the bay temp is too high too early?

it fluctuates a lot every year, (especially at the north end where its shallow and there's not much tidal movement) and if the water gets abnormally warm then the seabreezes lose their balls or just don't happen.
