Hey every one, some events like Kitestock WA have given us a great opportunity to demo the latest and greatest. I myself didn't get the chance to demo every single kite there and haven't ridden every thing ever made by far but I'd like to know more. So i thought I'd open up a forum to discuss what kiters in Australia think about their favourite equipment and why they love it. Have fun with it... Thanks guys!

I myself am a Slingshot fan and have a quiver of a 7m REV2 and a 6m RPM, 5'7 Webber surfboard and Slingshot misfit; I've been riding in 16 knots to about 35 with just those 2 kites!! The REV has so much power in it's swoop it's unreal. and the RPM has great boost and hang time and stability in these "Perthan" storms. That's a pretty powerful kite too. When other girls my size were out on they're 9's i was lit still on the 6, boosting and such. It's more than enough for me!!! No one can convince me otherwise!!! Any one else got something better?? Bring it

It's gotta be between the:

Cabrinha Switchblade IDS
Slingshot Rev 2
F-One Bandit Dos

go to any beach in Aus and theres a dam good chance you'll see one of these models...

I aggree with Rhys Porter but would add just one more kite to the list the North Rebell seen lots of them this year.

But my vote for the best kite would be the Bandit dos. I just loved the pure grunt and speed. Cant weigh to see what they have up there sleve for 2010.

I have not tried many kites from 2009, but I love the Flysurfer Psycho4 10m, because it is so smooth flying and turn better while depowered which is a real cool feature for many applications (wave riding, kitelooping, low wind perf). This kite is the first Flysurfer kite to actually turn fast, very appreciable. Upwind perf is excellent too, but this is the case on many older kites too, so this is not new. Bar pressure can be tunned to be extremly light, I like that too.

I have also tried the Bandit2 10.5 which is a really nice balanced kite, good float, good power for the size, and progressive power/depower, but you have to pump...

Also tried one of the 2009 Ozones in 11m (it was the edge I think), it was nice but not too smooth/predictible in comparison to the 2 above kites. I guess it all depends what you are use to fly.

see you

My kite is the best kite of 2009, even though it's a 2007 model...

Iv'e flown quite few but chose the Rev2, I have a couple of Rev's and find them just spot on for Gero conditions.
Best five line kite - NEW OS from Nathan.
Other stuff....well...it's other stuff that doesn't suit me.

I am seriously lovin my 09 13 m ozone edge.....i do like to fly smaller kites but this thing handles so well and the boosting plus hangtime is insane.

For waveriding the 6mtr Eclipse Kima, grunty, superfast turning, yet stable as.
At 90kg I'm still on the 6 when most are on 9's.

Hi All and Beast

whats your weight and wind range for your 8m SB ?
do you ride twin, surfboard or both - wind range for the two ?
considering updating to the switch (but can't decide on the 8 or 10m, thinking may be too under-powered on the 8m (main kite) ), like to ride both surfboard and twinny
I'm 75-80 kg, have a 6m SB and updating the 9m Convert

Inviting anyone to respond here too, particularly if they ride the SB

Thanks
