Come on you meteorology guru's, that funky low in the north (X cyclone), is hanging around an un-welcomed family member rocking up just as Christmas dinner is served.

Anyone have an idea when it should piss off, because it is screwing with our beautiful anti-clockwise highs! even into next week....

sorry don't have time .Google la nina and el nino ,indian ocean dipole (IOD) and sunspot activity and the effect on earths weather (here is a hint on the last one ,there was a prolonged period of low solar sunspot activity a few hunderd years ago that led to a mini ice age .there was also a period of high activity that allowed the romans to conquor northern europe and britain in their sandals)

I'll leave a trap out, with a pint of Guinness as bait tonight..

We've just had 5 days in a row of 20+ knot winds and the 4 day forecast has every day at 20 knots. I kind of hanging out for a few days with no wind so I can head off and do other stuff.

Forecast for Friday until midnight
Winds: South to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots, reaching 15 to 20 knots later this afternoon with sea breezes. Seas: 0.5 to 1 metres.

Forecast for Saturday
Winds: Northeasterly 5 to 10 knots tending northwesterly during the morning around 10 knots, then tending south to southwesterly 10 to 15 knots by early evening. Seas: Half a metre or less.

Forecast for Sunday
Winds: Southerly 10 to 15 knots tending south to southwesterly 15 to 20 knots during the morning. Seas: Half a metre increasing 1 to 1.5 metres by the afternoon.

Forecast for Monday
Winds: West to southwesterly 15 to 20 knots tending westerly 20 to 30 knots during the morning then tending southwesterly 20 to 25 knots during the afternoon. Winds decreasing to southwesterly 15 to 20 knots during the evening. Seas: 0.5 to 1 metres increasing 1 to 2 metres during the morning, then decreasing 1 to 1.5 metres during the evening.

Great to see you guys getting some awesome wind. Of course in WA we have already had it for the last three months, if you chased it slightly north.

I'd say the folks that know how it went are probably still there........stuck, or at least they would have been for a couple of days, that track doesn't handle rain very well.
I can think of worse place to be stuck though.
