Just wondering what people do with their superseded kites when they upgrade. Reason being is I want to buy a cheap C kite and there's hardly a one anywhere, I thought there'd be a flood of the things given that they're out of date and unloved.

After 3 years on a (second hand) 2004 Cabrinha CO2 I upgraded to a North Rebel and sold the old kite for a couple a hundred bucks here on Seabreeze buy and sell.

Now I want one of the old dinosaurs they're few and far between.

What gives?

I've still got my original two line Naish Ar 3 9m bucket with the skull and cross bones on it, that I started on back in 2000, I converted it to 4 lines ages ago and bring it out for a kite when it s honking every now and then. Also I've still got a Naish areo 8, 12 and a Naish aero2 18m that I still use on light days. They are all still in working order but I don't think that i would sell them, I like to think that i will use them if my currnet new kites might get damaged.

Try the shops.
They often end up with superceded kites following trade-ins.
I reckon most would have a bunch of C's stashed out the back, although even they might have cut their losses by now and thrown them out...

Thanks dude but if I do a search for "kites" "WA" "12m" "$0 - $400" I come up with 4 listings, 3 of which I'm not interested in and one that doesn't answer his phone.

Don't s'pose you can tell me how the Fuel 13m goes compared to a 12m, just wondering if it'll be too much for me at 85kg and the average Perth summer seabreeze 18 - 25 knots.

Cheers

Yeah I've got about 15-20 in my garage that don't get used anymore. I pulled a couple of the newer ones out to take photos of and one was still tied up hehe. Nobody wants any new/old RRD kites do they hehe. I think most people who have been doing it for a while still have them. It's alot easier to buy a new kite than it is to sell an old one.

Might be a bit big, I ride it as my kite of choice in Perth Summer seabreezes and I'm 110kg.

Still got:
Naish V4 20m 5th Line conversion
Naish Torch I 16m

I feel an old school day coming on !!!

An exhibition of the stuff and a chance for some people to move some kites on ???

And when we get tired we can sit on the V4's leading edge for comfort - you should see the size of it !!! Failing that, shelter from the wind behind it !!!

I think as soon as a kite gets to a point where someone can only get $300 bucks for it they keep it as a backup kite rather that sell it for nothing. The ultimate kite to get is one that's about 4 years old that's only been used 10 times by a beginner and then pulls it out to get some cash. You see them occaisionally for around $500.

You'd need an 11m Fuel for 18-25 knots. From 06 onwards the depower improved a lot. An 11m 06 Fuel is still a pretty sweet kite if you can get one that has had minimal use.

I have 12 M North Rhino 2, that is a 2002 model with the fifth line added. It is practically new, I don't use it. Apparently that particular kite has a reputation.

Sold my 2004 (I think) Aero II 12 to some dude in the states, for $500 plus postage! Was happy about that!

What ever happened to the person wanting trashed kites for some art project... Anyone remember that thread?

Preserve it I took mine to the tip after it disintegrated in my hands. Gees 2 lines were easy to run out but scary to launch.

I have a 10meter, 2004 Nitro if anyone is interested in it.

It has never been used, and is fresh out of its plastic bag.

The ropes and bar haven't even been setup thats how new it is.

If anyone is interested make me an offer
