I am thinking about putting together a Demo Day and am after suggestions on where to do it.

So???? where would be the best place for a social kite/demo day in Perth?

What are some beaches people would want to go to demo some kites and have a BBQ??

It would need to be not too far from the CBD with heaps of room with good conditions it doesn't need a BBQ or shade as we can bring all of that stuff.A boat ramp near by would be good so we can put a safety boat in the water too.

Thanks for any good suggestions

If there is specific 2011 gear that people are wanting to demo then maybe best to PM me so the forum police don't get their knickers knotted up

Great idea, we need to have more days like this as not many of us can get up to the kitestock events etc.

Should have a 2nd hand tent as well to help us get into the new gear?

I'd go anywhere for something like this. Woodies has a pretty broad range of conditions and is close to the CBD. Not a lot of wave options but some little breakers if the swell is up.

somewhere like pinaroo is good, i was thinking best thing to do is go to 2 or 3 beaches over a month, that way everyone from different spots get to check new gear because i duno if you noticed but most spots tend to stick to a certain brand or shop affiliation etc.

Beach 1 or 2 at woodies would be alright too. dont know about beach 3 because not everyone coming to a demo day will be competent enough to keep solid ground and not clutter up the flow of beach 3

Leighton Beach. Why???

* Pleanty of beach to show of the kites,
* Close to Freo for a beer afterwards,
* On the Trainline
* Waves for surf - still good for twin tips

Can i say more???

The demo day sounds good, i would be keen to try out some gear. Safety bay would be a pretty good place to do it because:
- there is a boat ramp right near it
- advanced riders can ride in the pond where there is super flat water, and beginners can ride on the other side
- its close to me :)

The only problem is that it is not super close to the CBD.

What charl dv said is a good point - do 2 or 3 demos so that everyone gets a chance.

safety bay is NO!

the spot is already too small and crowded enough as it is with people that aren't really at a level to competently ride there without pissing off the other riders and windsurfers. and we all know as soon as everyone sees flat water they would want to go ride in their and get annoyed when organisers tell them they have to ride on the other side.

OK so this demo is on at Woodys tomorrow at 3

www.seabreeze.com.au/Members/Events/Event.aspx?id=4380558

We will try to run a few more demos in the coming weeks at Leighton, Mullaloo and maybe one at Pengos (so we don't upset the pond locals )

see you at Woodys tomorrow

I'd really like to test couple Airush kites, but due work can't do it. Saturday or Sunday would be nice!

Thanks heaps for the big effort, esp. Matt and Damo. Very windy for a demo day. Had heaps of fun on the 6m Lithium. Couldn't really demo anything else as I was massively overpowered on my own 9m and had to come in. Would not have had a session if it wasn't for you all, thanks again.

Thank you for organizing this wonderful event.

It is much better and more sufficient to have these demo days as we can try kites back to back and choose the one we fell in love with.

Big plus for Airush, I haven't tried any of their kites since 2006 but this year everything that I tried was awesome
