I had to let a kite go once .... it drifted North for a day or 2 then South for another 2 (wind direction) It was picked up by a fisherman about 20 miles offshore and about 70 miles south of where I lost it ....

My un-educated guesstimate is that it did at least 100 miles.

So ... who fuggin knows mate. If it floats ... it will travel.

99% of the time it will head in the direction of the wind I would walk from a little upwind of where you lost it downwind for 1-2Kms to see if you can find it. A board would be a bit different than a waterlogged half deflated kite (I'm making an assumption here MartyJ).

Let us know if you found it or not, could be useful info for if you do as to where for anyone else that loses thier's.
