I'm looking for a new kite. I'm about 90+ kilos and I currently ride a 12m Naish Shockwave, 16m XBow (1), and a 8m Turbo Deisel (just for storms really)

My elbows are killing me so I need something with light bar pressure. The great thing is, a couple of $k for a new kite can be justified on medical grounds :O)

I reckon the new generation of kites should be able cover me for the 12 and 16 with one kite - 14m

So far I've tried the 08 Rebel, Helix and Switchblade (all 12m).

I love the light feel of the Helix and it trucks upwind in light air, but didn't seem to have a lot of bottom end. The rebel has beautifully smooth power and quick turns but didn't seem to pull in light wind (~15kn). The Switchy has lots of pull and jumps easily but turns like a slug.

So Basically, all I wnt is a kite that pulls like a tractor in lite wind, turns on a dime, points high, jumps easily with good hang, has light bar pressure, and smooth power delivery. Surely it can't be that hard to find!

Any tips appreciated

Cheers

Andrew

Probably best to try a 14m rebel or 14m Nemesis HP if you want low end with faster turning.

The kite you seek is made by Ozone. The edge2 or sport2 should do nicely. No pulleys on the kites (no maintenance), bugger all bar pressure, stablest kites I've ever flown (been flying all sorts of kites for 6 years in Tas) and the new models turn quick as with unreal low end and incredible top end. I'm 95kg and went the 13m,9m Edge2 combo with a Sport7m for consistent over 32kn days.

They are just really damned good, well thought out and designed kites.

Go and fly one or two of those to see what you think.
