I have been flying an 8m Naish Helix which I love but am getting a bit frustated on days with less wind as I seem to be having to work so much harder than guys on larger kites to just keep going along.

I am thinking of buying a 2nd larger kite, probably 2nd hand and cheaper if poss

I am about 65kg, and am using a 138 board and have been kiting about 3 times a week for the last 3 months.

I realise that everyone will have different opinions but any ideas or advice on size, make, model, expected price would be much appreciated.

something recent in a 12 meter should be a sweet light wind kite gav.
prob looking at 1000-1500 bucks. or pick up a pre- 2007 kite for less. just look at the kites for sale on seabreeze.

Be carful what you buy, we just had a learner at the beach that got a ex demo kite from a shop in adelaide that cant be named as they are a site sponsor. But in short the kite had seen way more use and abuse than you could give a kite in a year turned out to be 2 years old a 2008 cult and i would have been to scared to fly it let alone put it up in enougth wind to actually kite with. never even came with a leash not bad seing they sold him a full kit harness board kite. The price he paid for it he could have got a near new 2009 kite but just remember to have a reall good look over the gear before you hand over the cash there is some dodgy gear around.

If you have had a good run with your current kite and you are happy with its feel and performance then the best advice would be to get a second kite of the same or later model and brand.
That way all your safety gear is the same, lines and stuff are interchangeable etc.

why do you ride such a big board.
at your weight you should be on around 128-132cm.
just interested to know, cause thats a massive board.

i just bought a wainman 9mtr.

Try one of these and you will see that these are the ulitmate in kites. I was in 12-13knots and I'm 66kgs. The wainman smoke was rocking where most people were on 12mtr kites. Fast fast turning and just trying to go faster!

They say this kite has the wind range of an 8-11mtr. I believe it and thats a fact. This thing had shown me how good a kite can be. It will take your riding to the next level.

Go read some reviews and ask someone who has one. I have had a helix 09, switchys also. I am super super happy with my wainman and wont be going to another brand ever!
