You shouldnt be dissapointed. April May June have the highest probability of getting wind in this region. Head to Hill Inlet (White haven Beach) for the best place. Its bout the only placein the Whitsunday Islands worth riding but its definately worth it....

Head to Day dream Is, it's your only hope, or hit the mainland, Conway Beach 35min from Airlie Beach.

Heh Joe
These few places to kite around the islands, as by the looks of some pictures from the Whitsundays there are lots of open beach. Is it because of wind direction or access?

i agree. and i hate agreeing with the guy above. take snorkels, beer and a fishing rod. leave the kites at mackay. even if wind is on at best, it will be gusty

i would like to retract my post as i would never agree with above post. Take all your kites and kite till you cant kite no more.

Cut the crap; I've heard this before about whitehaven. Can we get to truth about the issue. Is it really good and you guy's dont want people coming or sh"t? Keep swinging.

hey mate, whitehaven like anywhere when its good, its the best spot in the world, i was there every 3 days for 3 years and leant to kite there in the last year and a half there
if its a true se its epic, if its to south go to langford spit below hayman or daydream or if your on the mainlaind conway beach 2 hours either side of the low, dont go into the middle of the river mouth cause if you stuff up on the outgoind youll end up in mackay, if its the incoming tide youll be sucked down to the hungry hungry crocs,
if its cranking se hire a car and drive to alva beach (on the maps) of mackay, there are some sweet spots, good luck

I also have to agree with sleek1 and flembouyant...whitehaven is a cool place to sit on a boat destroying bacardi whilst playing roulette but its shyte-haven for kiting. Mackay or Conway mate.
