Who has used a wakeboard and what has been you thoughts?

Current 2014 'wake style ' boards are nearly identical. First hand experience is worth sharing!

I rode one for about the last 3 or 4 years behind the kite... so it could be your technique, or possibly you just happened to get a board pressed with more rocker. LF wakeboards rocker seems to vary a lot between different boards of the same model as you can never tell for sure how much it will spring back.

Hey Daniel, I rode lots of different boards over the years but the best I rode was the 2010 Liquid Force Watson, it had about 2.3inches of hybrid (almost continuous) rocker and was a board that could work on cable boat or kite. Pretty unique really.

Hyperlite Era with 3-stage would be a slow board. Any board with a big 3-stage rocker will be slow, also wakeboards typically have fairly narrow tips which doesn't help getting speed when you have a decent amount of rocker.

Yep, although the Tranq still has quite a bit of rocker you will be surprised how only a little bit less than most modern day wakeboards makes a big difference. Couple that with wider tips and a more efficient channel design and you have a board that will travel a lot quicker than a wakeboard.

When you say on a wakeboard are you also saying with wakeboard bindings?

I saw a guy doing t the other day, he was pretty good but i felt the potential for a serious stuff up if it all went wrong and you couldnt ditch the board???

I've ridden my 142 CTRL Supreme with a kite. It goes well enough if you're lit but it's a dog if it's light. Even finless in the right wind though it goes upwind with good technique.
