I occasionally check out the Lost/Found section of this forum (when bored) and I've noticed the majority of lost boards and bars left behind etc is in WA. Particularly the Perth metro area.
Anyone got a good answer why?
Have we got more learners, foreigners, kooks over here that can't body drag properly?
Are we more laid back (lazy) and aren't too fussed about lookin after our gear coz we know someone will return it to us?
Are we that hardcore that the moves we bust leave our boards and bars in another post code when we don't quite make it?
Is the wind here that much stronger that most riders will eventually lose there gear at some stage?
Be good to know why, coz the Lost/Found makes us look like we (as a group) f..ck up on a regular basis.
(Not good for bragging rights with the other states!)

A dirrerent perspective on 'genuine' lost boards ( un kook associated )

Is the late afternoon Sun - Causes one hell of a blind spot, when trying to see your board upside down in swell or chop. Sometimes you have to squint out the corner of you eyes riding normally, it does get that bad - thankgod for polarised glasses !

Apart from that Yes the kooks are Legendary here

Ps. We must give them credit though for not losing there kite too... Thats the answer !!!!! Attach their boards to the 5th line fark yeah

It`s because of day light savings. I don`t know excactly why but it must be, they blame everything else on DLS.

I assumed it was 'lost' gear that had been assisted by those characters in white commodores at Woodies.

yeh, that's it, DONT VOTE FOR IT

probably also to do with the sun setting in the west, the wind's being consistently stronger, waves breaking harder, and general ocean currents etc.

also Perth metro has mostly exposed surf beaches, whereas a lot of eastern states spots are flatter, calmer waters and bays ?
