Hey all, Being a noob , today was my first time I've seen brown arrows on the wind forecast. Naturally I found it both ironic and humorous realising the wind ranges they represent!!
I get how one would come up with the red yellow green system (traffic lights) but I'm wondering if there's some meaning to the brown colouring or is it just witty Web sites designers!?!
Check graph legend on left hand panel of forecast page or wait until you're experienced enough and kite in gusty storm conditions where the wind is 35+ knots for explantion
The brown colour is indicative of the fecal matter that accumulates in one's shorts when kiting in the predicted ranges of the brown arrows. Although, some experienced members of the kiting community find tremendous exhilaration and satisfaction in kiting in such extreme conditions.
the walks said... Days like today are what makes the summertime circus of perth metro a distant memory At my local, just me, my son, great wind & waves, happy days
Yellow arrows do give me the ****s. Especially when it's onshore. Usually too light for kiting, but too strong for heading out in the boat fishing/wakeboarding
