Hey Mates, I'm a beginner kiter and advanced windsurfer. I found this kite board for sale and thinking it should work well for very light wind. I can also probably install a mast track and use it for windsurfing in strong wind or even light surfing sometimes..

Need your advice! :)

not sure about windsurfing but you can forget surfing it. It's designed to go straight and fast with no rocker and razor sharp rails

It will get you going in light wind, but I suspect your upwind ability will be much less than a light wind TT and especially a race board.

How is the board in general? Weight etc? Its like from around 2001-2002. At what price would you recommend it as a good buy?

It will probably suck for windsurfing at 210cm by about 50-55 it's probably around 60L in volume, which needs lots and lots of wind to get going. It sucks though that there is no rocker and sharp rails, are you sure about that?

to be honest I haven't seen one but all the boards back then were designed to edge hard against a kite that didn't want to go upwind

HI Leto
I had a simular board back in 2000, but was not as long as yours, was OK in light winds back then. As far as I can remember, mine had 1 centre windsurf wave skeg and 2 thrusters. Think it would be better with 3 bigger skegs/fins as you dont need to edge so hard with modern kites so the board runs flatter. Have a look at the size of fins on the airush select and you can see the size you can go up to now. More like a windsurf slalom board, fins.
You could probably have a bit of fun on it as a windsurfer but I predict if you ever jump it, it will snap between the footstraps and the mast track. Kiteboards are just not that strong.
I dont think its worth very much at all, once you have added the cost of 3 big fins to make it into a light wind board, thats going to add up, and it still would not be as good as a second hand modern course race board.
Hope this helps
