Hi Sam....you can just rock up and register on the day or right here. Haven't sorted registration on the WAKSA web site just yet, but maybe we can manage that still.

We have heaps of volunteers and it's going to be real fun. The Steering Committee is meeting tonight to discuss weightings of Land, Launch and Tricks.

G'day Guy's n Gal's

Looks a great event with a nice bit of diversity of skills

I would like to raise a couple of points you may wish to have a look at regarding the nominated course.

Jibe markers 3 & 4 are right dab bang in the middle of the windsurfing area.

Jibe marker 4 is just in front (upwind) of the groyne, you will get some nice rebound chop of this and with the breeze blowing towards that loverly pile of rock you have good potential for disaster once the red mist of racing descends on everyones eyes.

There is a cross over point where people leaving JP4 cross the path of people heading towards JP3, Who's going to give way?

It looks a great event I would just hate to see things go pear shaped

Time to fit my flame suit

Looks like a lot fun and chaos ;) Not sure how the rescue will go down though. Could get messy with body drags going on and shark biscuits floating in water.

Very good points Elmo, we will make course adjustments on the day so that no one has to be angry.

However, there will always be angry unhappy people out there find something to hate and want draw attention to themselves...........like the polies who came racing through the WA State Titles in recent past.

If a course like this could actually also suite polies, then maybe next year we can look in to inviting them to run the course too.

No Slave, you get points for being nice to a polie......poor dying breed.

No problemo Gruez, like I said looks like a great event.

With that many aspects to it, it's not really going to favor any one rider and will give some good spectator entertainment.

Have fun, we'll just tough it out in our sleepy little backwater

Course will be set out at 9am: Graham Baker in charge.

There are easily 30 volunteers so we tandum up on jobs...thanks to all. Not all volunteers will be racing as we have injured kiters among them.

The bibs (numbers) have arrived from Sydney and we have them for 50 pairs.....100 riders. Numbers will be given on first come first serve. Volunteers will have first dibs on numbers though because at least 15 of them will be on site at 9am. If we are swamped with teams as the day progresses, then the Steering Committee is a clever bunch and will figure something out on how to accommodate past 100 racers.

#1: Puppet and Gruezi > we will be first up hopefully by 11am the latest.........because if we are lucky it will be windy all day.

Righto, this actually sounds like fun. Who wants a 110kg partner to drag out of 'Save the Swimmer'? I can do a good imitation of a dead whale.

Hey Southie, if you don't have a partner(s) by Sunday, no need to worry..........we will have one heck of a pick up scene.

Wind forecast holding up great...fingers crossed for what is predicted.

Note on what to bring:

Please bring a plastic bag for your refuse.
WAKSA will be providing water and softies and dogs...and many will bring their own stuff as well.

If we all take our own and our fellows refuse back home in little bags, then we can leave Woodies cleaner than we found it...........and the special bonus, you don't leave filth for the WAKSA clean up crew.

We all do a little and no one is left to do a lot....easy.

Looks like we are ready for a rocken day at Woodies. Thanks to Huey we should be able to have the first run at 11am. All are welcome to join in on the festivities...WAKSA and non-WAKSA....there are many non-WAKSA volunteers whom I thank in advance.

Just a few things:

Choicey> is safety in Bay 1 and sets out course
Youngy> safety in Bay 3.
Launching judges Bay 1> Darren, Daniel, Craig
Landing judges Bay 3> Youngy, PR, Pat
Trick Zone> Dave B. head judge> Woodies crew of 10 will alternate so there are 5 in box always.
Registration BBQ area.

And please, if you are just going to kite at Woodies without entering the "race," then give room to the guys and gals in it. I would also appreciate it if some of our best riders help out with any rescues that need doing.

We've got plenty of food on the WAKSA BBQ which is going to be run by a French chef.

Everyone on best behaviour as always because we have all sorts of functionaries coming for a look. Should be a good crowd today.

Cash prize pool of $20K to top finishers, your dreaming....maybe next year.

Fantastic effort and great organisation done by all of the volounteers involved. My legs were f$#$ing killing after the firswt two legs, and then I got lost in the bushes on the way back :( , was going to see what speed I got to on the woodies side but i think i was shielding the gps as it didn't take any info. Would be keen for another one for sure, maybe with a little less running eh?
