Quick edit of some footage I got with my Crimbo present.
A couple of sessions at Woodies and Safety Bay. Featuring two Pom's and some usual suspects.

These guys are way too good not to have a serious development program behind them. I don't know if they have or not, but if they do I haven't heard about it, so it's probably not serious enough.
As I understand, most of the top PKRA/KPWT riders have managers and trainers. Where are all the Aussies on the international freestyle circuit?
Let's all get to our AKSA branch AGMs this year and try put back into the sport some paltry amount of effort compared to the enormous pleasure we get out of it. Imagine what a nice feather in the cap it would be to have kiteboarding another one of Australia's world dominations, even if just for one season or so.

with whos money and effort?
WAKSA fees are already high for guys not working (studying).
the way it works is the brands find the best guys, sponsor them and then they go off competing.
Slingshot have some program set up although all i know about it is that it exists somewhere...

As I posted in another thread
Just a crazy idea I'm throwing out there, been thinking it for a while and too some extent has already been done.
In Victoria I know they have Surf Clubs, you know when they have enough people riding in a region and form clubs based on a local spot. This is sort of already been done if you want to count team 4680 haha or team maggot for that matter.
Point being I know speaking on Woodies crew behalf we normally catch up not just at the beach and stuff and most are pretty good friends. I know is the case in other spots too. Anyway getting to the point my suggestion it would be good to have small clubs setup within WA such as Woodies Riders, Scarbs Riders, Safety Bay Riders and River Riders. Within this If there was enough interest we could organsie small friendly freeride competitions and social events. WAKSA is such a big organisation and it is doing a FANTASTIC job but its never going to organise photo shoots, videos etc.
Small clubs would be able to focus much more on the riders at the spots interests. For instance, I know the river kiters aren't necessarily as wakestyle or competitive based riders, most just out there to have fun.
I'm not talking about a full on club straight away with memberships and fes and stuff. Maybe one or two people who are proactive at a spot just volunteering, getting everyones email address and then maybe sending and spreading the word about downwinders, BBQ's, freeride comps etc. of course with riders paying on the day for things that cost money. I know it sounds crazy but with the amount of people doing it in WA its possible, once they get up and running it could develope a lot more, who knows.
My 2 cents.
