A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine came up from melbourne to cairns for a needed break, i live at Holloways bch great kite spot.what struck me was , She asked where are all the kiters at the famous Yorkeys Knob, she said are they soft cocks or somthing? this got me thinking.Quite often when the conditions are near perfect ther might be less than a handful of kiters there. Is my friend right?

Mate , you are taking the piss aren't you...... looked at your profile and under "About Me" You say "I have the balls to improve my skills faster than my fellow brothers and sisters" . Make sure you introduce yourself as no doubt , you are the bloke to turn to for advice. This has to be some local taking the piss ..... can't understand the motivation behind it though...

Ok I will bite.... the reason that you didn't see anyone was.... wait for it...... there was/is no wind. Box and irikanji everywhere, it is our off season, damn hot and humid, rain etc. Oh, and again no wind...... bloody soft locals not kiting when there is no wind. Go figure.....

Mind you, our "season" isn't really any better

Oh yeah, Holloways is even worse to kite than Yorkies, absolute crap spot......

I could not agree more Gumby! Holloways is all rocks, no kiddie pool areas for beginners and where would you launch? From the street? Maybe on low tides it could be ok, but the place reminds me of Altona in Melbourne - 50 mtr launch site, trees everywhere and powerlines. Ugh. YK is wayyy better and plenty of room. The walk is a pain but it's worth it.

Come on Huey! Where is the wind!!!!!?

Ha ha man, good way to troll up some comments. So here is mine. Usually if there is even a slim hope of wind at this time of year we are all over it like a rash. If it is windy and there are only a handful of people out it likely means the rest are at work. If it is windy on a weekend then the knob soon fills up with a plethora of start up/hog the best spots with your kite at 12 wangers. Please stay at Holloways as one less wanger at Yorkeys will be much appreciated.

^^^ funny one mate,....

@ Ollie fly.....

I think what really happened was..

You were unsure why no one was kite surfing and used a pathetic excuse to bring up the fact that no one was kite surfing, but the fact is you dont really kite that well....but going from you're post you actually think you can...

Post a pic of your legend moves...easy.

I am convinced that yorkeys has more biters than kiters, every one is welcome at Holloways , we wont try and push you up the end of the beach here ,Even Lenten has heard about the softcockmanship at Yorkeys
