Just wondering if anyone in the Brisbane/Sunshine Coast area were interested in coaching for more advanced Kitesurfing. There would be lessons for those who want to start unhooking through to doing more advanced moves for anyone that wants to improve their riding skills or compete competitively.

I dont have a pricing structure as yet but I am looking into a training school structure and 1 on 1 radio lessons with a full time high calibre instructor.

This is just a survey to see if there is interest out there?

The 90's ain't so far back...I recon it's a great idea if you've got the bucks....but many of us spend so much on kit, that we don't have the $ for this sort of luxury....but there are so many dam rich people out there (if they're not working to get richer) that just maybe there is huge untapped demand.

Oh, just think of all the things a personal kite trainer could do for you..............endless.

the idea is good,
but I would think that it would be more feasible in a coaching style of structure.
coaching is a different beast to teaching and needs a different skill set. but as a group of kiters can cover the cost easier, then the reality becomes achievable.

I have been pricing lessons for different sports. I have to agree that most kitesurfers are pretty tight. If you look out how much people spend in other sports for lessons or gear they are less reluctant to not pay for quality and lessons.

Wakeboarding lessons at a cable park can be up from $40 per hour and people that do this sport will have lessons regularly. It is what you need to do to be competitive no questions.

I am looking at 1 on 1 radio lessons for $40.00 an hour for advanced kitesurfing skills. Please take note that part of coaching will be training out of the water. A school option that I am working on is a 5 on 1 where 5 students take turns one after the other completing drills and honing skills, techniques and trying to fix up bad habbits. This method would be a bit cheaper I am looking at $15 hour per person in groups of up to 5 this way people can afford to train more regularly.

Im still in early stages of organising these type of lessons but they wont happen if there is no interest.

Lessons will be done in the Brisbane/Sunshine coast area with a high calibre rider/instructor.

Hopefully some lessons might encourage the trend to pick up the pace and standard of other international kitesurfing beaches where dozens of grommets are ripping it up unhooked everyday.

Some of you may have had a sample of the instructor Kiting at Brighton (Brisbane) Yesterday (Tuesday 16th of October)It wouldn't take anyone long to work out he's doing some awesome stuff...Things you do not see at Brighton! The response after that display for advanced lessons has been quite positive. This instructor will be present at Brighton and can provide information for 1 on 1 bookings.

Thanks everyone the support and keen interest for advanced lessons it has been great. It seems that there are few people in the SE QLD area that are interested in riding competitively and getting some lessons. There have been some keen novice/intermediate riders interested to progress and improve their general riding skills. I have no doubt that anyone who gets progressive lessons will benefit. Other parts of the world ie Europe and USA are conducting these lessons, this is something very new to the area and hopefully this will spark a new vibe for the area...perhaps produce some great competive talent!
If anyone is interested please PM me and I will get back to you.
