Anyone keen to head south tomorrow to catch the late morning change due down there. Looks like it wont hit the sunny coast until mid to late arvo. Perhaps we can do a run from Woorim (south town of Bribe Island) to Coolum? We can leave a car at Caloundra just in case (about a 70km run) so your legs will be really strong afterwards.

im telling you its starting to cap a little more every hour, by 1 or so we should have a little breeze to play around with, anyone downwinder yesterday? finished school at 11 so was able to a sick solo downwinder from bays to sunshine, i might of seen tony but he was on a red switchblade instead of his blue one so who knows.

tony has a red switchblade but it's his small one so it probably wouldn't have been him.

Still hoping for a stronger easterly this arvo for a M-river session

The bureau is predicting this... im a little optimistic on this one Maybe Dustin and Scotts optimism is contagious. I HOPE SO!

A gusty 25/33 knot S/SE change near Coolangatta after about 10am and spreading throughout by the evening. Winds reaching to 30/40 knots in open offshore waters. Seas rising to 3 to 4 metres. A 1 to 1.5 metres E'ly swell. Scattered showers, chiefly near and following the change. Possible thunderstorms on the change.

30-40knot WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO Makes me glad I got my 12m. See u boys out there this arvo ey? U wanna do a rivermouth sesh then a dwinder to coolum?

30kts may be a little strong for my current setup - managed to fix my board so I'm super stoked - as soon as it hits 15 to 20 I'm there. Rivermouth then to Coolum sounds excellent

Hey Dustin

That was me on the red Switchblade. I took off from Coolum main beach just as you came around the point blasting some nice off the tops on your surfboard.

Thursday arvos downwinder was a bit better with a less east in the wind. I'm on holiday so let me know if anyone is keen for dwinders this week.

Blownaway, thanks to you and Mike for a lift back in the troop carrier and the cold beer on your birthday.

Look like the change has well and truly arrived at Byron and is starting to blow in Coolangatta.

See you on the water soon.

Yes Dustin, I ended up at the dog beach just south of Sunrise. The squal was good and you shot through pretty fast to the north. I was just having fun taking my time mostly playing on the inside glassy sections.

Hey Blownaway, it's only about 10mins walk from the carpark - it feels like 20 after a big session. In a southerly though you can kite back to the carpark what I have done before is pump the kite at the beach near the carpark then walk down with the kite to the river and then kite back - if you live on the north side like we do then it's much quicker than driving to the M-dore side. Also you have the beach on the north side completely to yourself.

Just spoken to echo - looks like it will be SSE or SE based on what is happening in Coolangatta right now. Looking to do a DW from Mudjimba to as far North as we can get and take some bus money or get a lift back. When doing a mega DW it's pretty hard to move cars etc...

Had one of the best ever sessions today, sunseeker and I went from mudjimba to stummers. Saw skeggs there, sorry I didnt ring you (or anyone else for that mater) prior mate, just finished putting my new bar on and left in such a big rush that organizing anything seemed too overwhelming. We had some very heavy gusts getting close to 30knots. I installed my depower rope waaaaaay to short, and full depower was about 50-75% full power... a little overwhelming at times but very fun and very worth the wait.... interested to see how that guy went on the 20m.

Hey sunseeker 3 more posts and u get 3 stars.... coooooool, now ur working ur posts per week has probably dropped to 10% efficiency. In the meantime, thanks Laurie for reducing mine and other working aussies efficiency by "making" us spend too much time at this website and less looking at our to do list.

"and sharing hrs & hrs together on mutual shopping outings - esp'ly 4 clothes"
Its the winning move everytime.

So true!!!

You're joking aren't you puppet Any guys who like hours and hours of shopping for clothes are generally into guys , so that ain't going to go down well with the women folk.

Suggest you try the chocolate dipped fresh strawberries, and bathtime massage with candles and essential oils approach.

Now thats a winner

Welcome to kiting watergirl, the perfect complimentary sport to surfing.

Enjoy your learnings,
