i'm not sure but it sems to me that as we are all talking about safety, these so called teachers are amongst the most irresponsible and dangerous amongst us. in a blatent do as i say... not as i do attitude, they set a bad example for all, especially new comers.

i don't know, as we argue about kite safety etc. i repeatedly see the most bizzare acts of stupidity from those who should know better. am i alone here?

i dont want to let one or two bad apples...... you know who you are ....but whats the experiece out there?

yes they are all ****wits, when i was listening to dan talk me through the safety points and then quizzing me with them i was going under my breath "crap, bollocks, retard who the hell needs a buffer zone, gooner and a half, jesus when do i get to fly the kite-who needs to know all this ****, its bn 20 min of talking so far" no seriously i was and at the free self rescue day held by darren i was thinking y even bother, i know you are just doing this for the money. now give me my free snagga and beers"
yes they are all ****wits, next time i will boost over one as they are giving a lesson and drop the board on one of them. maybe i should sharpen the edges so it has the potential to decapitate or maybe we should focus on the guys who walk around the car park with their kite at 12 to swap boards from their car

i bet this was just a troll

Hey SHK,

Although this probably is a troll, there are a number of instructors who, despite being given proper initial training, choose to, as you say act recklessly. These few bad instructors taint the rest who do a good job and act responsibly.

If you see an instructor who acts in anyway unprofessional, find out their name and report them to either AKSA or IKO. Nothing gets done if you come on seabreeze and bitch about it. Be proactive!

One lunatic (not from Oz) who perhaps managed the most stupid and dangerous stunt which backfired and blew up in his face last year claimed to be IKO. I found out his name and checked the database and he was not IKO at all or maybe he was and was discredited previously.

Anyway, to all the good instructors who are doing the right thing, rock on and well done! The number of serious injuries and deaths has not significantly risen in the last 4 years even with the explosive growth and popularity of the sport. I attribute this, at least a good portion of it, to good instruction and the growing number of good schools.

Good winds,

Wouldnt say they are total twits,

But Yeh,
Do these twit instructors teach how to do deep water relaunches? Ive seen crew who can kite but cant relaunch a kite,

Seems like not enough learning fundamentals.

The "relaunch" should be really high on the list of things to learn.

Cause I crash all the time
But I can relaunch better than I can do tricks
