Was interested in seeing wat the minimum ammount of glass...people are using and having reasonable results in board strenght also what people have snapped.
ive made a 15 mil divinicel core , 135, with 3.5 layers of 6oz on bottom and 2 x 6oz crowwweave glass on top. 2.4kgs total weight haven't snapped it yet, is very bendy( im 76kgs), it sits with around 4-5 cm rocker, and can bend 1 end with my hand up to around 15 cms...rocker...feels like your "connected" to the water and can feel every wave alot more then my last board, awesome for wave riding cause of the feelback, havn't yet tried wake moves on it, gives lots of pop
so if you've smashed a board , post it!

As far the minimum amount of glass - is None enough?
I currently ride an all ply board, held together with 2part glue, and varnished.
Top and bottom layers are 2mm ply, the middle layer is 3mm with most of it hollowed out except for where the strength is needed around the footpads, fin and leash attachment points.
The shape is loosely based on the grey airrush (forget the name) 138cm.
Goes like a rocket for me, haven't managed to break it despite some nasty landings...

m i think ply's to heavy to work with though , and doesn't give much flex

well see bout that sunset! hehe , i may get out today at around 3pm and try a mobe`
check out the wind today at belambi (NSW ) it's 40-50 kts gust all arvo ,
you don't need to do a chinup 1 handed to do the handle pass , you just need to be able swind your body and rotate your shloulders..
and grab the bar , you need to commit to the jump b4 you do it. and atleast 100% complete the grab, the rest isn't a problem. i recon i could do 20 chipups but none 1 handed.
