If you own a switch board I would sincerely suggest staying away from Pinaroo for a while...

Lost my new Switch 142
Lill lost switch 135
Bennyfrase lost switch 169

Sucks big time.... hopefully they have all been washed up together and they are found by some cool dude who frequents these forums...

But as far as I am concerned.. Pinaroo is the Bermuda triangle for Switch boards...

Best of luck
Chris.

will be doing that for sure with my next board. also... my mate had an idea of installing a small beacon either side of the board which is contoured and can be activated remotely from the beach.... like the strobes you get on life jackets.... that would have helped.

but name and contact details will be a definate addition for me

cheers
Chris

All sympathy to Benny, but how do you loose a 169. That would be like loosing Rotnest.

if anyone finds where all of the boards lost at botany bay go then they will be in for at least 50 or so that I know of.

either that of maybe the lost boards are what's keeping sharks from attacking kiters?

shark 1: hmm, i wonder if that tastes any good?
shark 2: dunno - do you like the taste of epoxy and carbon fibre?

when i started i lost my board twice at Pinnaroo(wasnt a switch blade tho). Both times I packed up my stuff and went down to Mullaloo surf club and got on the binocs and sure enough both times i spotted my board about 20 metres off shore.STOKED
So keep that in mind if you lose your board out at Pinnaroo (and its sw winds)

throught i would add
One way to get your board returned is to go to a place that makes boat stickers and get them to make you one with your phone number on it and the word Reward cost about $5 To $1o dollars and very hard to remove if found but still do not know if it works because yet to loose my board .

I've got my email addy nikko pen'd on my boards. Of course, you're relying on:

a) Someone actually finding it (as opposed to it simply disappearing in the big blue somewhere)
b) That person not being a negative vibe merchant and keeping it

Hopefully I'll never have to test it out!

Most people find them first thing in the morning at Ocean Reef marina, my uncle found Marks switch about 2 years ago 3km off Mindarie in his cray boat, which was lost at Pinnaroo.

A mate of mine found a cyclone board washed up at Lefties.
It had drifted all the way across the Indian Ocean from South Africa.
Maybe you could try looking there?
