Hey guys, I was out kiting for the first time in a beach today. It was unreal for the short time i was up and riding! but then my kite got caught in the shore break and a wave poped my LE bladder which in turn blew out the material

The blow out is like 6-7 inches long Is there a good repair shop i can take my kite to? Its an 07 waroo.

Learnt a few lessons today, dont pump kite up real hard in surf, realease the kite if its going to get munched by a wave.

Looks like ill be buying a new 9m sooner then i thought

Moti Levy does a top notch job and is pretty good in what he charges. He has fixed my LE Bladder (twice) from getting munched in the surf.
Sometimes when the waves have a bit of power there is no saving your kite. Something will give and it won't be the wave.

Thats a bummer Menox, but bring or send it up to us, we can fix anything, including the internal bladder, doubt you need a new kite.

Releasing the kite early in surf is important, but won't always save the kite from getting torn up.

Please dry the kite out and get any excess sand off it. You can even just post it to us, but send it in a bag if you do. If you post in a box they measure the box and it works out much more than just sending in bag.

G'day steve, i was planning on calling you tomorrow. Iv come up to sydney to pay the mrs a visit, but hitting the grog to mend my pain of wrecking my kite!

I have left the kite at home at shoalhaven heads. But ill be coming up to sydney next friday so ill come by friday afternoon and drop it off.

I think i might stick to flat water/no surf until i get over the blow out.

Geuss its all apart of the sport though

Shouldnt be too hard to fix mate ( i saw the blow 1st hand when he came in)

Dont let this get to you and ruen the fin that can be had on the beach, would have been perfect on the 11m out there today I was a bit underpowered on the 7m.

thanks macca. The time i had out there it was the best, the wind is sooooooo much better on the beach then in the river! like heaps!

I watched u on the 7m for abit. I thought to myself u might struggle on the 7m but wow, from what i saw u looked quite comfy on it!

Is your sport the 07 or 08 modle? P.s that nobile board looks the goods on the water!

I think i might travel down to calala bay on the next NE'r no waves there and the wind should be just as clean as the heads.

Yeah Menox Calala, and heaps of places down your way - even go as far south as Green Island or Conjola (same place), get more experience in flat water or out the back of the waves before attempting to actually ride the waves.
I'm sure the kite is fixable, especially since Macca has seen it and thinks its not too bad.
Macca's 7M is on 07, he picked it up recently on closeout, no 7's left, do have a 9M used, cheap.

same thing happened to me, but tear was about a foot and a half long. a few guys said they could repair it, but still had a leak.

in the end it went to Moti Levi, i think they charge $30 for a foot of dmg. guarentee to be able to repair pretty much anything. and less than a week after sending i was back out on the water.
