Hey guys what's a good board size for perth this summer?
I'm about 90kgs with 16 and 12 kites. Was thinking either 36 or 38 wide?
Is it possible to get insurance for your gear? These breakins sound a nightmare.
cheers

Not all beaches are a problem.if you kite in the areas mentioned in the breakins thread,be cautious.there are heaps of other beaches in perth and beyond i would say are safe.but i spose its possible anywhere.try not to leave kiting gear in the car,i know its difficult when travelling, but i think it is safer on the beach around other kiters than in a deserted car park.if you do leave gear in the car,try to cover it up with crap.a shiny new 2005 kite siiting on the back seat would definately look enticing for a low down scum buket theiving bastard.Throw old towels, sheets, rags anything to cover up the glowing kite gear.

as for board size.i think with your 12 a 140 down to 130 by 38 wide would do just fine depending on your kiting ability.

catch ya

I just got an extension on my contents insurance with AAMI that covers our kiting equipment up to the value of $10,000, even when it IS AWAY from the HOME!! We are from NSW and are traveling to Perth on the weekend for 6 weeks, we were getting really concerned bout our gear with all these breakin reports, so for an extra $321 a year on top of our contents insurance, we now have peace of mind.

The only time our gear isn't covered against damage is when we are actually using it.
