had same problem... but no more after i upgraded... there should be many latest model boards that should solve this issue (i.e. not just one particular board or brand)... but i got LF Kaos, and i'm very happy with it... if you can, just try some... borrow a mates on the beach...

had some issues with my north cesar and was told to make the stance a bit wider
as this shifts weight further on the back of the board. Didn't eliminate it completely but has made it a lot better. i'd be trying this first.

^^ that's right, it's a SPORT, not a water pistol fight with your mates in your backyard...

nothing wrong in trying to make it more enjoyable and efficient?

you could also argue, cyclists shouldn't wear sunnies, it's an outdoor sport - just HTFU
etc... etc...

the point is, board types as well as few other elements like riding technique, can make difference.

Definatly try some different boards, even trying diferent sized, smaller fins can help reduce spray. Diferent riding styles can promote diferent spray isues you may have a poo stance, or be trolling to slow but without seeing you ride it would be hard to say what the isue is try some diferent boards bigger smaller more flex less flex more rocker and see what works for you. I find when riding my surfboard with straps that i get almost no spray and it is quite enjoyable.

The best method for reducing spray is to learn to read the water, chop. Use your legs bend the knees and ride over chop not through it hop over white water etc be more active on the board, dont edge hard if you know it is going to cause spray when riding over a face etc. all these little things will help.

Good luck and remember if all else fails, buy a set of gogles, then you will love it dont use the snorkel.

I seem to recall a quote from Mark Shinn that went something like...
'Boards don't make spray, riders make spray'...
The upshot is that its mostly about stance and technique...

try smaller fins, or change stance or get a board with more rocker

Buy a pair of seabreeze sunnies (highly endorsed by "the doctor"), the spray will still hit you in the face ... but will not bother you anymore.

Thanks too every one . I just tryed a wider stance sort off stoped a bit . i also tryed too lean put more weight on back of board and keep front of board out off the water more helped a little put me in strange looking stance which was very uncomfortable . Seems like the water is getting sparyed into the top fin out of the water then sparying into ya face . So far iam not sure why i am getting this spray but the seabreeze sunnys do stop alot . Next time iam down sunny coast way i will see what i can test .

If you wish to eliminate spray 100% or perhaps 99% try MAKO 140*40.
This board simply doesnt spray, regardless of your technique , chop size etc.
Its a bit bigger size than yours but itll feel as much smaller.
With Mako youll not be forced to put majority of the weight on back foot, what can be stressfull on your knees and foot if you do long sessions.

it's the board, 38cm wide is pretty narrow on a board these days. Try a board around 40-42cm wide.
Next time your down on the sunny coast pop in and try a few diferent newer boards. You will be suprised at how smooth in choppy water some of the newer styles of twin tips are. You shouldn't have to put up with spray in the face.

In the mean time keep your weight over your back foot as much as you can and try to not let your front toe side rail catch. Also try and suck up the chop with your knees rather than having stiff legs, this will help absorb the chop and give you a smoother dryer ride.

Next time your out ask some crew that are your size to give it a quick burn and some feedback, maybe at the same time borrow their board and see if you still get the splash.... you'll soon know where you need to go from there.
