I ride the LF Vantage CT and love them. Its been my first set of boots, but no complaints. The only main downside to CT is sand wont wash out of the boot

I've had both and 100% I won't touch open toes again, heavy landing and your ankle is broken sticking out the toe hole. I've come close a couple times from moderate crashes and it's not fun.
Sand isn't a problem I usually chuck my boots on it an inch or so of water to keep feet clean.

If I dry start the tiny bit of sand from on my feet doesn't bother me and washes out eventually. Wash your gear afterward and it's fine.

Hey Troy~ haven't seen you for while.
I will get the CT then definitely! We may talk more if I see you on water!
Coming tomorrow to Shearwater to practice duck diving!

CT = more confident landings & better board control as lifting your toes gets a deeper edge when you need it. Also warmer in winter so no numb toes.

Oh and I destroyed a set of ronix open toes by ripping off the baseplates. The stitching broke when the open toe starts. Wouldn't of happened with closed toe.
It ripped mainly because my foot slid out the front.

I've had almost 10 years on bindings now and I'm a pretty firm believer that for now the only really good boots are Ronix. Especially the Cell (i use) and the one.
Other boots fit poorly in comparison and are heavy.

p.s. Velcro is pointless, takes longer to put on and is harder to get set to the right tightness.

Agree, I destroyed 2 sets of vantages CT last season, and the velcro straps tear when you crank them tight and you always get heal lift. They just dont pull down enough.
Im ridin LF ultras OT, and they are sweet, heaps of support and lightest LF boot in the range.
Never had a problem with foot pushing thru the toe opening. Just buy the correct size boot for you.
This use to be a problem when boots were sized sm, med and large as there is a large range between sizes now days you can buy the exact size for you.
And Ct boots can come with there own problems, if they are not tight enough and your foot slides forward = broken toes.

I have also gone back to OT boots. CT felt fine, but you can get the same support with OT, and I don't agree that CT give you any more leverage through your toes.

I have not tried the Velcro boots. Have had no dramas with laced ones, so didn't feel the need to change.
