not sure on the full details but a tourist broke his leg after his kite got wrapped around a pole on the island ferry jetty. we are lucky in safety bay as we don't get any hassles from local groups. as i and the many other kiters who kite here do not want restrictions please respect the public. the jetty is very busy what with spectators and people using the ferry. basic rules of the area are,
1 no jumping over or off of obstacles.

2 ferry has right of way.

as do public walking to and from island.
3 no kites within 200m of area north of ferry jetty on the island.this is a request of calm as the island is a breeding ground for penguins.

4 please no tricks or jumps upwind of public.we travel big distances so a kite dropped on a person is a sure way of getting banned.

5 keep lines on beaches safe for public. if having a break disconnect your lines.
6 winsurfing area at safety bay is for windsurfing.plenty of space elsewhere.

7 enjoy your kite ,act courtiously , assist other kiters and windsurfers(land, launch and rescue etc) see you on the water.
