anyone know if there are any cable parks in vic?in particular melbourne?
theres no wind and i`m hanging to go kiteboarding.
it`s like i haven`t had sex for a month. ha ha
cable park would be like cheating but i need to get my rocks off.

Someone would make a fortune if they set one up around the burbs somewhere in Melbourne. Any entrepreneurs out there please give it some thought.....

I'm really suprised that Melbourne doesn't have a cable park. I guess its a matter of finding a location suitable in Melbourne, where the water level stays constant. Maybe they should get rid of the paddle boats at Emerald and convert the lake to a cable park! You could catch the Puffing Billy there

A couple of years ago i sussed out whether or not it would be feasible to build one in Melbourne (VIC), there are only three real places you could do it, Caribbean Gardens (as most of the infrastructure is already there from the chairlifts), Water Sports centre at Patterson River and Albert Park Lake (Algae is a problem there as the lake is filled from the storm water from surrounding streets). I also inquired whether we could buy the old cable park infrastructure from the park that closed in WA, however they sent it back to the UK for some unknown reason.

The best place would be Albert Park because of its central location, however there would be a lot of hurdles to go through to get one there. I am good mates with the manager of the aquatic centre (MSAC) and they are on a massive expansion program, this could be something they could look at. They will become the biggest aquatic centre in the world once they have finalised the takeover of the old Victory Soccer ground opposite them.

MSAC is also talking about putting in the artificial wave that you can actually surf on. So all in all there are a couple of bright sparks on the case it is just a matter of who has the balls to put the dough up and get it running.

I can always dream Echostorm ! It may be harder then kitesurfing but it sure does improve your kiting skills.

not sure exactly what the suburb is, but its on the corner of stud road and ferntree gully road. Only open on weekends and wednesday arvos at the momment tho due to lack of number of riders i assume.
