Go for the Omega, convertable Switchblade to a Xbow, i find they ride better as a Swithblade than a xbow, but you have the choice.

If your buying second hand consider the Omega, for a few extra bucks you got a new kite.

Cabrinha? Good choice. I have two: a SwitchBlade and an Xbow. I love them both.
After a change to the XB bridle system (to be like the SB) - it brilliant.
Both have relatively low bar pressure - but not as low and anemic as the SB2. The SB is more aggressive and fast (can be quite violent in wild winds though) while the XB is more stable and gust resilient.
I haven't tried the Omega yet - but it looks pretty ok.

The only thing I've noticed is that when I ride with other same-size Omega's in light winds, they tend to be weaker than the SB.

Hi kiter,
I just tested a SB2 (12) and a Waroo (13) last week in Calaundra. Started with 12-15 knots and the afternoon ended with 25-plus. Liked both kites but the Switchblade was better. The Waroo was a bit more twitchy in the air and had better low end power at least in my hands but in general behaved quite well. The SB2 was great. Low bar pressure compared with my regular kite (12 turbodiesel). Fast in the air. But best of all it is really good for jumps. I was sailing in the flat water (since when we arrived it seemed that there would not be enough wind to sail in the surf). The kite takes off and lifts you very well BUT what was amazing was that once you are up, you just stay there. I did some amazingly high jumps in flat stuff so I can only imagine what will happen with a good ramp.
By the way, I was wondering when do the new models come out every year. Can anyone help?

yeah go the switchblade it depends on what riding style you are going for, wake style (but when you jump it has lots of hang time) = switchblade, boosting huge = crossbow. but the omega is like a wave riding kite so it turnz super fast. if your going to get any get the switchblade 2!!

try before you buy. Also, if somebody has shelled out the cash, they "usually" say its the dogs bollocks regardless.

have flown loads of **** kites which have got rave reviews, just make sure that:

1. the bar setup is excellent
2. the performance of the kite matches your riding, i.e surf v flatwater v wakeboarding v boosting.. be wary of the kite that "does it all" they usually do nothing.
3. demo demo demo (and use it with different boards and conditions)
