anyone know if it is worth taking kiting gear to Cocos Islands mid january? I have a 9m North Rebel..

On average there are around 5 days where its just above 12 knots at Cocos in the month of January.
Knowing what the charges are for luggage (if you're going by air) I'd say it wouldn't be worth it.

take your harness and be nice to some of the locals if the wind comes up ;)
When I was there earlier in the year they mentioned they kite all year round, but it's not very consistent outside of the tradewind season.
