Im traveling up to coffs harbour in a few weeks to do on site work (on the harbour) for a few weeks doing and was curious to know if there are any nice kiting spots? which ones or where would be best and kiter friendly? or would it be best to leave the gear at home for that time of year?

NEVER leave your gear behind! That will guarrantee the wind to blow !
Park Beach,next to the Harbour is good in,I think,NE to SE.
If you can drive to Woolgoolgah,20 mins up the road,excellent spot at Flat Top Rock.
Chuck a right at the Indian Temple,follow the road past the sewage works and pond till you get to the beach.One of the best spots in a Southerly on the coast.Bit gusty in S/wester.
Other side of the rock if NE.
