I stand under correction but from my understanding of winters in Melbourne (I was new to Melbourne last year when I arrived in winter) westerly's are normally best avoided due to squalls

Maybe St Kilda, there should be others out and not to far from the city. Depends where you staying?

If it's a westerly, most spots along St.Kilda/brighton will be on-shore, if it is a westerly then altona mite be the best to check out. Or possibly port Melbourne. Just keep an eye on the direction, it usually swings around north westerly - st.Kilda, South west - check out Brighton.
If you don't have a car, St.Kilda and Brighton will be the easiest to get to.

Cheers.

sweet, I'm staying in the city somewhere but used to live there years ago (before i kited) so know my way about. I'm on cab charges too from work so it doesn't bother me getting about or i can just rent a car.#13;#10;#13;#10;I'll get on the case on tuesday.#13;#10;#13;#10;Cheers#13;#10;Pete

If you're in the city, the number 112 should take you directly to St Kilda (one road behind the beach). I think the stop number is 140 or 141.

Brighton you'll need to catch the train unless you get a rental.
