That last one looks like you've seen something really scary in the water...

Was at Noosa last weekend just relaxing but recognised the funscape across the river mouth (used to windsurf it in the old days) should the wind blow! Looks like that JL board would rock in the surf - was thinking of going that way too but ended up with a custom surfboard from Goran on the Goldie.... top board very fast due to strong concave and reasonably flat lines and had thrusters tucked in only 1/8" instead of usual 1/4" to release more water! Here are couple pics and my doona... :) Hope to get up to Noosa again one day when there's wind!

good winds to you guys up the Sunny Coast...

PS. I guess you can kite the Noosa River on a Westerly if u careful? Just looking for alternatives to the red Barge, Brissie, Bribie, etc and looking for waves.... I am aware of the wildlife protection behind the river mouth their has there been any more action on that from council or conservation groups?

You have no idea !!
A big blind mullet from the overworked sewerage system that overflows when we get too much rain.

Hey Joffa, yeh I love my JL it is so much fun in the waves.

No more drama from council.

Westerly is kitable if you are careful with an incoming tide, gusty as though!
Beats driving to the above places though.
Give us a hoy if you want to kite in the westerly. If its NW well we have somewhere special

Nice to see another doona for once!

Funny how the leading edge of the Pulse2 is designed, kind of flaterned at the front of each cell.

I am curious about what sort of bar is being used in pics 1, 3 and 7. It looks like the cabrinha depower line and QR on a best bar is this correct? also is the board in pic 1 a mutant?, if not why the tri fin?

Well spotted Bennie! love your attention to detail.

Yep thats the Cabrinha de power main line and chickloop on the 09 best bar.Phill and I played around a bit and found that the Cab depower line would work fine. I hope your still happy with the mod Phil!?

Cheers

Yeh bennie its a jimmy lewis mutant an I love it, it goes pretty good switch but it loves toe side in the surf more, you did well to "spot the mod " This bar is a real mongrel, it has slingshot heavyduty center lines an cab qr and chckenloop and best bar and steering lines,I prefer 1 single rope on the chick loop , nice an simple an easy to replace.

re - Spaghetti

Spaghetti bridle can be a bit of a bugger if you don't pack it away properly but I must admit you get used to packing it up correctly so next launch is fast and hassle free...

The bridle is also highly configurable so that you can try many different setups to i.e. soften feedback or powerup the kite a bit more - it also allows you to tweak the kite especially as the kite get older and the bridle/kite lines get older changing the flight characteristics.... after which you can have the kite fly like it did the first day you used it..

I have had my ups and downs with this kite as you do have to get used to the spaghetti and make sure it's packed up correctly. It does fly like 12m bow in regards to power, not as much de power as a modern bow but it's enough to feel safe and it does handle well in the surf especially by being able to back stall it while going down the line (pull the bar in) and is awesome on relaunch which is pretty much why I bought this kite other than wanting to try something different! I also am keen to try this sucker out behind a snowboard too...

PS. will look you guys up (Blownaway) when I can get back up that way for a W or NW session cheers!
