I have recently been to Tarifa (Spain). Over there I was sailing a
North Vegas 5th Element. I was ver impressed with this kite. It was certainly a much better kite to fly than my older kites.

I was very impressed by the 5th line, and the way that it varied the angle of attack as you sheeted in on the Bar.

Coming back to Melbourne, I thought I would upgrade, and low and behold everyone is talking about the crossbow.

Does anyone have experience with these kites? It seems that the crossbow is the way to go, its just that the North felt really good.

The world has three main kite types...

Leading edge inflatable "C" shaped kites; or

Leading edge inflatable "Flat or Foil" shaped kites; and

Foil kites...

each with their good points and bad points, not one has a clear edge over the other...

The crossbow types are hammering their safety aspect, but a properly setup 5th line works just as well.

My advice, try all of them and make your own decision based on your own experience's as no two people ride the same...
