Not really, if you don't ask question then you may never find out
Your implying that he dosent have the experience to kite it!
How many of us west australians have kited while a cyclone has been around?
I love kiting all the big winter fronts that roll though here, but of ask the same question before I headed out!

I'm just shattered I'm stuck in the desert and won't get to sample it if it's anygood

Went down to Woodies for a look today and they have blocked off the road just past the sailing club.

Mind you if it's NW then any of the south beach might be worth a look!!

I think that the cyclone will be a fizzer.
All noise no action

I reckon the wind will be a steady 25kn Nor West in the morning.
Then in the Arvo it'll go nuts with rain squalls and thunderstorms
Not too dis-similar to a winter front but minus the SW

But really - who knows

I would suggest get up early keep an eye on the radar and conditions.
Any steadying of wind/break is time to get amongst it
Any black evil nastiness coming in then get out of the water quick.

What i do reckon tho is that the swell will be thumpin

make sure you take a mate with you to either land you quickly if something nasty comes in or at least video your last moments doing what you love

Could be an epic morning... Would love to kite the right handers (if not too many death squalls) but still here in Bali... Enjoy, but keep an eye out.

I'll go to the beach and have a look if it ever gets windy..........it is hot, humid, heavy and nothing to do but sweat in front of this machine. I don't even try to suss what is going to happen because I don't kite at the moment, but also know that this frontal kiting stuff is a crap shoot....1 out of 5 times you might have a good session. The seabreeze graphs make it tempting to contemplate what might be, but odds are against you.

do u numptys look at the forcast at all??

6pm tonight in Perth she'll start to fire with rain and moderate winds. 9pm it will be steady. It's now a tropical low. (northerly winds pushing south combined with sw winds pushing north= cyclone lost intensity and fizzed out.

I bet you wouldn't be too happy DOONUT if a cyclone actually did flog the sh it out of your place and destroyed your car.. Obviously never been in one I think.. If you have you wouldn't be wishing for one to happen.

... they predicted 4 cyclones to hit the Territory before Christmas, and we've had not one so unfortunately (or fortunately which ever way you look at it) the science is a little off. We reckon they send the apprentice forcasters to Darwin to get their bush wings, man they are constantly wrong Its gotta be one hell of a thankless job!!

Going off what was said on the news the recent flood didn't reach the same levels as the 74 flood. So i wouldn't say that they were wrong.

Being from SA, we just think it is bad Karma what happened. Better management of water an letting some of it reach SA earlier could have saved a lot of damage.

Cyclones are unpredictable things, people are allowed to have a guess. If you trust the BOM for accurate forecasts on a cyclone without checking out the conditions yourself you are the nupty. People who have been spending a lot more time on the water than yourself may have a better idea....i.e. poor reli.

Hey Grumpy Sam....
The only reason Ipswich/Brisbane 2011 was worse than 1974 was dam release mismanagement. I've done the numbers personally relative to my clients properties. The inquiry will be interesting.
Flooding of Toowoomba / Lockyer was a real and different disaster.

To clarify my statement, both were disasters but one could have been managed to a much lesser impact with the right management plan.
