sounds pretty good to me, the kite is a little old but a good beginners kite

great kites in their day i learnt on an aero 10.
8 is probably a bit small but the big board will make up for that i would have thought.
Aeros were a bit funny, some of them used to fly to either the left or right quite severely. naish took a lot back at the time and replaced them.
Have you had any lessons, probably a good idea to go and get lessons before you go out. there are loads of people round town that can help with that.
And make sure you have a good quick release/safety system on your bar.

dont worry so much, you will love it, i have flown a few aeros and they all flew good. if there is a problem the shop will probably be helpful

Yeah dont worry, your anxious and probably trying to justify spending the spondoolies.
get into it the areos are great kites, a mate has an aero2 10m its been battered, ripped, slammed and repaired, and still flies good.
and SOS are a great bunch they will look after you i am sure.

You made an excellent choice.
You will be restricted after a while with only an 8 m kite.

Start planning to get a 12 (the one in the picture looked good !)

Keep the 8 m for high winds. 25 to 30 knots.

Probably need a 16 too.Later on.

The board is great ! I have ridden one.
It will be easy to learn on. Dont worry about the shorter boards that most people have.If you want to get a shorter board once you become profficient,you should maybe look at keeping the 152 for a light wind board.

I learnt on a 10 aero and it's still going strong, my high wind weapon nowdays. love it. I'd aim for a 14m as a second kite, an 8 & 14 combo will cover more wind range than a 12.

Aero's came with a wrist leash. These are a pain to use and also prone to popping right off your wrist when you release - the cuff stretches when wet. So if it hasn't been upgraded then you must get the naish upgrade kit to a front line leash (about $40) or else the SSS kit which would be even better (it spins) but a little more expensive. a shop will fit either of these for you. In the meantime put it on TIGHT and when you pull the safety (ie chicken loop quick release) then quickly hold the wrist cuff in place with your other hand as the tension comes on it.

after a swim in I chased my kite 1km down the bay one day.. collapsed puking onto the kite, seeing big black spots in front of my eyes, fell on it just as an old fella was picking up the BAR as the kite drifted up the beach past him!! Got a front line leash the next day, no worries since then.

I wouldn't suggest you need a bigger kite than an 8m !!
I weigh 65 kg and fly an 8m kite on a 132 board and I'm in the market for a new 6m for next summer !!

you don't need to wrestle a 12 or 14m when you can rip just as hard on an 8m with your weight of 60kg
