I just got back 25 -30kts onshore, heaps of swell (more like wind waves actually) was havin a ball

,until I dropped my kite between sets at Mullaloo Point . Thought about releasing it but thought I could relaunch in time, kite was on its tip half a second from taking off when a wave hit me and slackened the lines and dropped the kite right in front of six foot of white water which of course chewed it up and spat out the pieces.

I love frontal winds and swell but you have to be alert at all times, stuffed if I know why the kite suddenly decided to fall out of the sky. Although it was gusty it had been flying ok but I had gone right in close on a wave down near the rocks at the point and the kite seemed to hit some real turbulence and it went from about 25kts to 0 for just a few seconds, thats all it took...... Bugger.... perhaps it was karma for having a day off work to go kiting
