hey all,im only fairly new to the great sport of kiteing,i kite down at melville and love the people and the open waters there, but lately the last couple of weeks i have noticed that more and more wind surfers are coming down to where we all are kiteing??wats with that,i am under the impression that we all have our own areas,as i am not as good as alot of the kiters down there i sometimes have trouble getting around people(no one has complained i normally just go downwind or turn back the other way)but having people to dogde that i should not have to(wind surfers)is a bit annoying,i can see cant they see that there are heaps of wind surfers 100 meters up the beach.......

The same thing seems to be happening on the other side of the river at Pelican Point. On the weekend there were windsurfers learning right in the middle of the main kite run, wobbling all over the place oblivious to everything. Most of the windsurfing crew keep further out and get there runs in away from the kiters.

Maybe it's the shallow water they like. With those marker buoys we're supposed to keep out side of it's bunching everyone together. Pain in the arse yesterday, felt I spent half my time dodging widsurfers.

umm isn't it easier to dodge windsurfers than kites?

Just putting it out there

attach 100 meters of string to the windsurfer, that would make it easier to dodge the kooks maybe?
