I was in exmouth(coral bay side) in aug this year.It rained so hard we nearly got rained in there. This is very unusual at that time of the year but can happen.most reports from other people who have been up there this year are good.warm weather and consistant winds.I spose i was just the unlucky bastard who copped the 10 day downpour.Did get waves though, and the rain wasn`t like cold winter rain.we kited 3 times.beautiful place and coral bay side offers heaps of different wind options.not sure about the exmouth side.

Hi Bolgo,
we were up on Ningaloo Station from I think August 29th to September 25th. The seabreezes weren't as frequent or strong as we'd been lead to believe was usual at that time of year, however we were out every day in winds coming from SW, NW, SE, NE, the latter of which was the only unfriendly wind. Realising the winds weren't happening as usual up there then we had an inkling this would be an average season, which so far it has proven to be. We're planning on heading up again same time next year and surely the winds will be back to normal by then, we'd been told 8m & 10m kites would be much needed. Even though the wind was average there were sooooo many other things to do up there and places to explore. We didn't kite the Gulf but friends did and locals do so it must be OK. A local guy called Scott Diffen has recently set up a school there, I don't know it's name or have a contact number but if you can track him down he should be able to give you more info on the Gulf. Have fun,
Jess & VB
