Uploading to YouTube? You can do it without converting... sometimes YT throws a spaz about things for no reason.

... get a free account on Vimeo.

I found youtube a bit of a hassel. Some times youtube will block some videos or strip the music off, make you pay blah blah but Vimeo is easy and has never given me any trouble except one thing and that is you got to keep your uploaded file below 500 meg per daily upload.

Do a bit of searching on the Vimeo site, there are a few help pages, instructionals ect that can help you how make it easier and gives you the preferred format ect ect.

Have fun,

Robbie

The ideal scenario is to upload what Vimeo and Youtube use. This being a H264 - .mp4
The .mov is just a wrapper, inside the .mov file you have the codec and this is what really matters, so you could have a H264 .mov file.

Then you've got frame size - 1280x720 or 1920x1080 - data rate: try to aim for 5Mbps or more.
Then you need to make sure you're uploading the native frame rate. We are 25fps here in Aus/NZ. But if your camera is not set up correctly you might be shooting in 30/60fps (American frame rate)

They have all their encoding profiles displayed on their site but these ones are pretty common and will help speed up the turn around time for your video.

If you've got any questions drop me a PM.
