Ive just got rid of my last recon nitro and converted to fuel 5th line kites. Need some advice on untieing the bow and possible prevention.
Today after dropping the bar and pulling the kite back in on the 5th line kite on its back it took flight for a bit then flipped on itself. I let the kite strangled on the water pull me into shore so i could sort it out. just as i made it to the beach the line slipped off the edge and the kite was ok except for a line twist.
If i unclip the leash from the fith to the conventional 4 line safety and flag the kite would this untie my bow?
Is there a simpler way?
Is there a quick release on the fifth everyone but me is using?

Bow tie = shore.

The '06 SS's have the wave grenade, which you should release if youve bow tied the kite. Then, do a standard 4line relaunch and come in to reconnect the 5th. It'll save your kite from being shreded.

Ive had the kite come down LE before, and you can get out of this situation, just let the 5th line feed out and turn the kite around by pulling in one of the rear lines.

The real trick is dont let the kite sit on the 5th line for long. Crash, collect yourself and get to the bar as soon as, pull on a rear line and off you go.
