Red Barge which is located the opposite side of the Broadwater to Loders Creek, you will need to drive around past Seaworld and then follow the road around to the left at the end of the seaway to come back to the dead end where the barge is located. Mind you it's quite gusty and you need to watch the tides and wind strength as you could end up in seaworld as the newest attraction!

This location has been fenced off on the point due to erosion problems so the best place to setup and launch is the large expanse of sand on the left side of the point which can be accessed to the left of the surrounding fence. Make sure you stay up wind so that if you hit a lull or the wind drops that you don't end up in Bums Bay or Seaworld..... best thing to do is to try and get over to the sand back which is up wind of the beach (looking over to Loders Creek) nice flat water there and you can get back to the barge if you get in trouble....

If you are very experienced there is also Seaworld carpark where you can launch near the trees and again run up against the sand bank only 50 metres away - head in the direction of the barge (reference pt only) then come back to the end of the sand bank towards the Marina. This area ONLY if you can stay up wind as the rocks, seaword admin building and helipad is a strong deterant! If you are really freaked out here you can walk over to the other side of the sand bank (facing Aust Fair) and kite this side of the sand bank giving you a buffer away from the car park....

I don't use either of these areas much anymore as the NW is best at Kirra (almost side shore) much stronger down the coast and cleaner than anywhere on the broadwater but if you don't want the drive or the waves then the above may at least get you out for a session but be careful all Westerlies are very gusty and often extremely strong in the bigger gusts also SW is the worst direction as the higher buildings from Southport and to the Sth of that really bugger the wind up...

Good Luck and kite safe!
