i recently purchaced a second hand havoc, and unfortunatly the cleat on the chicken loop has corroded away stopping me from being able to trim the kite at all. the rope just slides through the cleat all the way to the end. by the looks of things the cleat and chicken loop and depower rope are all moulded into one. does anyone know if i have to replace the whole chicken loop and cleat and if so, where would i get a replacement and how much??

When you do get your new cleat, make sure you rinse the bar lines and cleat after every session with fresh water. This will stop the corrosion. Uncleat the depower line as well (it gets full of salt water and then the salt comes out and corrodes your cleat while you store your bar and lines).

PS Havocs rock!

yeh gotta wash all those metail bits with fresh water after use in salt..

I'm not familiar with the LF gear but i know with the slingshot cleats they are the same as a type of sailing cleat which can be purchased at any marine/boat bits shop and screwed on..

thats what i was hoping but ive just been looking at it and it seems to be set in at the moulding stage of the chicken loop and depower rope..didnt think it would be as simple as just replacing broken part. have to buy a whole stup again
