i have a ss fuel and have found a small leak on the clear nipple that connects the leading edge to one of the struts,
i think its fix able but dont know what type of adhesive to use.
i tryed epoxy but it did not work,
i guess i need some kind of flexeble compound, that also bonds to rubber or plastic.
can anyone help.

ouch - the amount of times I have tried to fix those things - and failed If it is anywhere on a joint, then it is almost impossible, and invariably that is where they usually are. Should you be lucky and there is some of the plastic wall completely surrounding the hole, then there is a chance you can fix it. You treat it like a bladder puncture and stick a bladder patch on it, or a bit of old bladder cut to size. I have done this where the hole is on the corner/joint too, but it never lasts that long.

Not too much help, I know, but it is a bitch of a problem. Gluck.

I had the same leak in my kite. I took it to the Kite Dr needed to seal it with heat not glue!!!

stormsure from clark rubber is the way to go, it does not require a patch as it drys into one so it is very good for tricky repairs like this one, i have repaired many bladders with it.

Depends on the size of the hole. Sometimes the glue lets go easily and you can pull the entire nipple off and re-glue it. This is the best option. Use a contact cement such as airbed repair glue etc, Do not use patches as there will be an air gap between the nipple and bladder that will be hard to seal. Dont stretch the bladder, as it will be hard to re-seat the nipple.

If its a small hole, squirt some of the glue into the gap and weight it down. Be careful not to let the glue go right through the hole and stick the front and back of the bladder together.

In all cases once the repair is dry, you will need to also run a bead of glue around where the nipple meets the bladder. dont be affraid to use plenty. it may look a little ugly but i have never had one come undone.

I do have an idea though !, is the kite very old ? as if the leak is not due to hard impact and more from construction/placment take it back for a WARRANTY replacement ?

hehe - looks like it is no longer a "one pump", cause you have to come in and pump it up more than once per session.

Sorry, also could not resist.
