Ok, finally got convinced by the dudes in Tarifa (Spain) that I should go for an EVO because its smack bang in the middle of a Rebel and Vegas.

I took out an 8m and I loved it. Really light bar pressure, tight turns and great pop.

BUT...

When it came to packing the farker up... man what a pain in the arsse! IIt seems that the only way that it will fit in the bag is by folding it lengthwise - once from the leading edge and once from the trailing edge toward the middle and then rolling it up!

It has battens in the tips which makes folding it AFTER you have rolled it IMPOSSIBLE!

What this means is that you have to get all the air out of all the bladders FIRST and then pack it, rather than as you go...

Am I missing something, or is there are simple way of packing it uP?

hmmm... this is hopeless... surely there is another way.

I literally have only done it once, so I haven't had a chance to play with it, but have you tried removing the battens?

How do you get all the air out of the main bladder first?

The pump I use has a deflate "setting" if you change the hose to the other side. If yours does too you could try pumping the air out?

If you email North - they can tell you how they factory fold.. generally keep the trailing edge batterns as 1 fold, and the leading edge as another

I have a best yarga with battens in it front and rear. i found the same problem when i flew it the first time. Found the best way was to roll each side to the center strut lining up the trailing edge not the leading edge.
This will keep the battens in line so you can then fold it.
hope this helps with the EVO.

Attn Kite Designers: Battens suck. Learn to stabilise with decent seam shaping and appropriate cloth use, not heavy sticks.

I had the 2008 Evo. I am not sure if the 2010 packs up differently to the 2008. If it's the same, here is the way I packed the 2008 one up. Hope it is clear...

1. Lay the kite out flat and open the 2 valves in the leading edge bladder (one in the center and the dump valve towards one of the wingtips).
2. Starting at one wingtip, start rolling up the kite from the wingtip batten towards the center strut. As you get to each strut, deflate and keep rolling.
3. When you have rolled up one side of the kite into a "sausage" to the center strut, go to the other wingtip and repeat the same procedure.
4. You should now have two rolled up "sausages" of material, with rolled up leading edge at one end and rolled up trailing edge at the other.
5. Fold "sausage" in half and it should fit into the bag.

Good luck.

You generally need 2 people to get a cabrinha back in the bag..........And only one to put it into a tree.

Take it back to the clowns who sold it to you and ask them to do it. If they can't then demand a bigger bag.

Take out the battens like you do with a sail on a small boat. You shouldn't really leave battens in anyway as the stretch the material. You just have to be careful that you don't lose them.

Usually it's the cabrina guys who complain about the small bag size, few guys I know, they go to woolies and buy one of those cheap zip up strippy bags and use the cabrina bags for the kids school bags!!.this also deters the car theifs looking to break into your car and steal you kite in it's bag with writing all over it ,instead they think it's a bag of your dirty laundry...

I got 2008 rhino's , 2 easy ways to role em up ,1st as per book role from one wing tip to the other finishing at the end with the dump valve ,find the middle of the kite then fold in half ,,,2 nd way , the way i do it , role from either end then fold in half.before you say that the evo is harder to fold up ,check out the lenght of the wing tip batterns and the amount of cam batterns in an 08 rhino.
I'f this is all too hard pull the batterns out ,,might take you an extra 45 seconds to set up.
