Hello,
I’m planning to go to go to Australia in November 2005. I want to stay one year in Australia and want to see Sydney, Brisbane and Perth. Now I’m thinking how many kites will I need for the trip. Yes I know, more kites are better but I want to take only 2 kites (15 and 11 slingshot) because of the costs and of carrying. And now I want to know how many days are there with 7 bft and more than 7 bft in Perth, Sydney and Brisbane. If there are not so many days with 7bft I think my combination with 2 kites is suitable.
Many thanks

noone in australia uses the beufort wind scale im afraid !... winds 15-20 knots in nSW/QLD, and 15-25/30kts are common every day in perth during summer months( from dec to feb/march) perth definately the better place for wind consistency in summer... lancelin north of perth is awesome if you like flat water, and big swell, and 20-30 caus it ususally has it all

In my opinion, 11 and 15m kites would permit you to kite at least 5-6 days/week in WA during November-January. There would be the occassional no-wind day and depending where you go, the 11 could sometimes be too big (Perth-11m very rarely too big; Geraldton-11m OK most days, but you might spend a number of days as a spectator).
Cheers

Thank you for the messages. In Europe the use of bft is very common, but of course we are using knots too.
I think, i will earn some more money and come with 3 kites (17,13,9). This will fit better.
